Medical Plasmas is a company born from the research activity of Daniel Cortázar and Ana Megía Macías, dedicated to the development, manufacture and commercialization of cold atmospheric plasma technologies and solutions for applications in human medicine, as well as the provision of associated services.
Who has been involved in this operation?
Clave Capital, a venture capital manager with 20 years of experience, through its financial vehicles I+D+I Tech Transfer F.C.R and Navarra Tech Transfer F.C.R, has led the financing round. They have been joined by the Center for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI).
What do they achieve with this operation?
With this operation, Medical Plasmas consolidates the bases to be able to develop a device with a first focus on the treatment of ulcers or wounds, in addition to carrying out a clinical trial and obtaining the CE certificate for its commercialization.
In this sense, its founders also foresee being able to extend the application of cold atmospheric plasma to other pathologies. Both have worked in close collaboration with Bernardo Hontanilla, a physician specializing in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, and director of the clinical trials to be carried out at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra and the Hospital Universitario de Navarra.
